Creativity, curiosity and participation

Ollie is a 15-year-old from Sydney who enjoys playing the drums and creating through design.

At school, Ollie learned to use Fusion 360 and has since started his own 3D printing business, where he works on designs he’s created himself. He enjoys the process of making and experimenting with ideas.

Ollie lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and uses a powered wheelchair for mobility. It supports how he moves through spaces and takes part in activities day to day.

“I'm so happy I can keep up with my friends now."

"Having a power wheelchair gives me gives me freedom and opportunities just to do things independently. I can just use the elevation function. I'm able to open the locker. There's like an extension of my arms and legs to help me like reach things. I can reach things by myself like out the fridge for example like a snack or something."

Ollie’s story is shared as part of the beyond community, which brings together people with different experiences, interests and ways of participating.
