Jake Briggs is a compelling voice at the intersection of lived experience, leadership and community connection. After sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2010 which left him a C5/C6 incomplete quadriplegic, Jake re-entered the workforce a year later after rehabilitation to the role of Construction Financial Risk Management and soon transformed his personal journey into purposeful advocacy around Australia and internationally via United Nations.
As Managing Director of Culture Connex, Jake brings more than a decade of experience living with disability to his professional role and uses it to ground the organisation in genuine understanding. Culture Connex is built on a foundation of authenticity and empathy, offering person-centred and multi-faceted sensitive services for people with physical, intellectual, sensory and psychosocial disabilities.
Beyond his executive role, Jake is the creator and host of the podcast Keep Rolling with Jake Briggs, where he explores topics ranging from music, sport, leadership and disability to technology, culture, First Nations identity, personal development, current events and lived experience no matter what sector, occupation of wheel or walk of life you’re from.
His commitment to inclusive representation especially as a proud Wonnarua/Kamilaroi man means he is continually advocating for both First Nations people and all people with disability to be seen, heard and valued.
Whether you’re using assistive technology, navigating daily life on wheels, or simply seeking a strong, connected community, Jake’s work is grounded in one clear message: Your Disability Does Not Define Your Purpose, You Define It.
