Hands On Series: Complex Power
Hands On Series: Complex Power

Advances in power wheelchair technology have allowed more power wheelchair users to drive independently across more varied terrain.  Prescribing a power wheelchair for those who have additional drive control needs or have particular functional needs can be challenging – what features do we need to look for and what do they mean for the wheelchair user?

This workshop allows you practical time exploring alternative drive controls, power standing and the influence of programming.  We take a look at the suspension and motor options across the Permobil chairs, how each of these influences the performance of the power wheelchair base and how this is relevant to the wheelchair user.

In this workshop we explore
- Alternative drive controls
- Power standing
- Additional programming options
- Suspension and motors

Learning Objectives:

Participants will
- Explore three different access methods of driving a power wheelchair
- Explore two programming options for power standing
- Explore two different suspension and motor options on a power wheelchair

Time:

Two hours
